PUPILS have been on a personal ‘mission’ to make a difference to the lives of others less fortunate this Christmas.

The Sunny Bank Primary School pupils have been collecting toys on behalf of charity Cash for Kids and its seasonal project Mission Christmas.

The charity helps support children aged up to 18, who are disabled, disadvantaged or suffering from abuse or neglect in 22 areas across the UK.

Sunny Bank's school council has been at the forefront of the effort with two pupils from each class helping organise the collection of new toys. The children also decorated a collection box and encouraged friends and family to donate new unwrapped gifts for the appeal, which In the space of two weeks had collected more than 70 toys.

Headteacher Tracy Bevan said she was proud of all the pupils who took part in the scheme.

She said: “I am delighted by the efforts of our school council and the kind donations from families at the school.

"Part of our school ethos is ‘caring’ and our children have truly shown that they care for those in need this Christmas.”
