A PAIR of twins, who took up martial arts after winning a Bolton News competition, have been awarded their black belts.
Amy and Jessica Riley, aged 10, from Ladybridge, were presented with the belts in Korean martial art Tang Soo Do at a grading ceremony at Bridgewater School, Worsley.
The girls' parents Beverley and Chris said they were delighted. Mrs Riley, who has also taken up the martial art recently, said: "We are just really proud of them. It is a big achievement and it shows commitment as well."
The twins took up Tang Soo Do four years ago after being awarded a free trial at Bolton Family Martial Arts Centre when they won a Bolton News Easter egg design competition.
