FIREFIGHTERS tackled a house fire which started in an electric cupboard last night.
They were called out at about 8.20pm on Friday evening to reports that a fire had a broke out at the house in Luton Street, Bolton.
It is not believed that any one was injured.
Chris Wilcox, crew manager at Bolton Central fire station, said: “There was quite a lot stored in the cupboard. Luckily, the fire was discovered quite early so it had not spread.
“The main problem was that they had no smoke alarm because at night it would not have woken anyone up.”
“I would like to encourage people to get an alarm fitted and we offer a free service.
“If this had happened during the night it could have been a very different outcome.”
