THE largest model show in the north of England will be held in Bolton this month.

The show, organised by the Bolton branch of the International Plastic Modellers Society (IPMS), will take place in the Macron Stadium’s Premier Suite on Sunday January, 28.

It is the 17th to be held by the club and will feature model clubs and traders from the length and breadth of Britain.

The theme of the event will be ‘Print, Film and TV’.

Visitors will be treated to work by some of the country’s leading modellers and will also be able to buy the latest releases from some of the country’s best-known traders.

On display will be model aircrafts, ships, cars and armour in a variety of scales and sizes, including a large scale model of Star Wars’s Millennium Falcon.

This year, the show will welcome Edinburgh Model Club, while another trader is travelling up from Bognor Regis to attend.

This will be the first year the show has been held at the new venue.

David Swift, the chairman of Bolton IPMS, said: “Over the years the popularity of the show has grown. The Premier Suite at the Macron means that our new show is approximately four times larger than anything we have done before.”

The show will be open from 10am-4pm.

There is free parking on site and refreshments will be available throughout the day.

Admission for adults is £4, £3 for senior citizens, and £2 for children. A family ticket can be purchased for £10.
