Man committed indecent act

A MAN who committed a sex act in public has been jailed for 36 weeks.
At Bolton Magistrates’ Court Carl Diskin, aged 43, of no fixed address, pleaded guilty to outraging public decency by behaving in an indecent manner.
He committed the offence in Horwich on Wednesday.
The court heard that, at the time, Diskin was subject to a suspended prison sentence for committing a similar act on December 2.
In addition to the jail sentence Diskin was ordered to pay a £115 victim surcharge.

Burgled a clothing store

A THIEF who burgled a clothing store has been sentenced to an eight week curfew.
Bolton magistrates ordered Wayne Regan, aged 45, of Muamba House, Bolton, to wear an electronic tag and remain at home between 7pm and 7am.
They also ordered him to have treatment for drug addiction, supervised by the probation service, and participate in 12 days of rehabilitation activities.
The court heard that, on January 4, Regan burgled New Look in Bolton, stealing clothing worth £589.89 and returned the following day attempting to commit the same offence.
He pleaded guilty and was ordered to pay the clothing store £589.89 in compensation.

Stole from cars

MAGISTRATES have sentenced a man to participate in 10 days of rehabilitation activities after he pleaded guilty to attempting to steal from a VW Polo on January 14, interfering with a Kia Rio three days later and stealing a backpack on January 16.
Scott Tillott, aged 43, of Woodvale Grove, Bolton, appeared at Bolton Magistrates’ Court, will be supervised by a probation officer and was ordered to pay £698 compensation in total to his victims.

Drunken woman assaulted a paramedic

A WOMAN has been jailed for 12 weeks after she assaulted a female paramedic in Bolton.
Bolton magistrates heard how 42-year-old Teresa Finch was drunk when she attacked the paramedic as she was trying to help her on August 13 last year.
Finch, of Lytham Road, Blackpool, pleaded guilty to committing the offence less than a week after she had been sentenced for a similar offence.
The court was told that her victim was emotionally affected by the attack and had to take time off work.
In addition to the jail sentence Finch was ordered to pay the paramedic £115 in compensation.

Flytipper fined

MAGISTRATES have fined Zaneta Stojkova, aged 32, of Mayor Street, Bolton, £220 for dumping a chair on land to the rear of her home.
The case against her was proved in her absence and Bolton magistrates also ordered her to pay a total of £330 in costs and charges.

Lead thief electronically tagged

A THIEF who stole lead on December 15 last year has been sentenced to an electronically tagged curfew for eight weeks.
At Bolton Magistrates’ Court Jonathon Wood, aged 29, of Rowena Street, Bolton, pleaded guilty and also admitted failing to surrender to court on January 9.
His curfew will last from 7pm to 6am and he was also ordered to pay £750 compensation plus £85 towards prosecution costs.

Curfew given to assault woman

MAGISTRATES have sentenced a woman to an electronically tagged curfew for 16 weeks after she pleaded guilty to assaulting a man in Bolton on October 20.
The court heard that the offence, committed by Paula Gilkes, aged 32, of Gower Street, Swinton, was racially aggravated.
She will be subject to the curfew between 7pm and 7am and must participate in 20 days of rehabilitation activities.
Gilkes was also told she must pay her victim £75 compensation and £150 towards prosecution costs.

Drug treatment order was made

A WOMAN has been ordered to have treatment for drug addiction for three months after admitting assaulting a woman and a man and shoplifting.
At Bolton Magistrates’ Court Dawn Hirst, aged 34, of Beatrice Mews, Horwich, pleaded guilty to the offences, which included stealing meat and other food items, worth £130, from the Co-op store on Chorley New Road, Horwich, on September 25 last year.
In addition to the drug treatment, the court fined Hirst £50 and ordered her to participate in 15 days of rehabilitation activities.
She must also pay her assault victims a total of £100 compensation and pay £300 towards prosecution costs.

Magistrates ordered unpaid work

MAGISTRATES have sentenced a man to do 80 hours of unpaid work after he pleaded guilty to harassing a woman.
At Bolton Magistrates' Court Adam Cornes, aged 25, of Pioneer Street, Horwich, admitted contacting the woman via texts, calls and e-mails for between January and June last year.
The court also ordered Cornes to pay £170 in costs and charges and a restraining order was made banning him from contacting the victim.

Van driver was over the drink drive limit

A VAN driver had drunk so much alcohol that he was more than two and a half times over the legal limit, a court heard.
At Bolton Magistrates’ Court Leon Maloney, aged 30, of Victoria Road, Horwich, was sentenced to an electronically tagged curfew between 8pm and 6am for 12 weeks.
He pleaded guilty to committing the offence after being caught driving a Ford Transit van on Penn Street, Horwich, on December 19.
As well as the curfew, Maloney was also ordered to pay a total of £170 in costs and charges.

Teenager ordered to do unpaid work

MAGISTRATES have ordered a teenager to carry out 150 hours of unpaid work after he assaulted several people.
Jack Dunne, aged 19, of Butterwick Fields, Horwich, pleaded guilty to assaulting a police officer, a man and woman on September 23 last year as well as damaging a door frame and destroying the rear window of a car.
At Bolton Magistrates’ Court, Dunne was sentenced to a community order which includes participating in 35 days of rehabilitation activities.
The court also ordered Dunne to pay a total of £500 to his victims.

Motorist was caught without a licence

MAGISTRATES have fined a motorist £240 after he was caught driving without a valid licence or insurance.
Bolton Magistrates’ Court heard how Jamil Ahmed, aged 30, of Cecilia Street, Bolton, was also caught in possession of 17 snap bags of cannabis and two of cocaine on July 19 last year when he was spotted driving a Ford Fiesta on Parkfield Road.
Ahmed pleaded guilty to committing the offences and, in addition to the fine, he had six penalty points added to his licence.
He was also ordered to pay £85 towards prosecution costs plus a £30 victim surcharge and the court ordered that the cannabis and cocaine should be forfeited and destroyed.

Suspended prison sentence given to BMW driver

A SUSPENDED prison sentence has been given to a man who was caught driving a BMW on Manchester Road, Westhoughton, after taking controlled drugs on March 28 last year.
At Bolton Magistrates’ Court Lewis Thomas, aged 30, of Littleton Road, Salford, pleaded guilty to committing the offence.
He was sentenced to 12 weeks in prison, suspended for 12 months and must participate in 10 days of rehabilitation activities.
He was also banned from driving for two years.

Magistrates fined man after assault

ASSAULTING a woman and and damaging her door has resulted in a man being fined by Bolton magistrates.
Stephen Whittaker, aged 36, of Duke Street, Bolton, pleaded guilty to committing the offences on December 29 last year.
He was fined £50 and magistrates made a community order which means he must participate in 20 days of rehabilitation activities. He must also pay £170 in costs and charges.

Police assault man was sentenced to unpaid work

A MAN has been sentenced to 40 hours unpaid work after he admitted assaulting a police officer and using threatening behaviour on December 4 last year.
At Bolton Magistrates’ Court Roy Gregson, aged 44, of St James Street, Farnworth, was also ordered to participate in 15 days of rehabilitation activities and pay £170 in costs and charges.

Defendant assaulted a woman

A COURT has sentenced a man to do 80 hours unpaid work after he pleaded guilty to assaulting a woman.
At Bolton Magistrates’ Court, Carl Dyer, aged 30, of Cross Street, Bolton, admitted committing the offence on October 29 last year when he was already subject to a suspended prison sentence for harassment.
Dyer was also ordered to participate in 20 days of rehabilitation activities and pay £100 compensation to his victim as well as a total of £170 towards prosecution costs and charges.

He committed a breach of the peace

A MAN has been bound over to keep the peace for 12 months or pay £100.
Bolton magistrates heard how Neil Coleman, aged 57, of Brigade Street, Bolton, committed a breach of the peace in Bolton on January 10.
Coleman admitted the breach.

Benefit cheat given curfew

A BENEFIT cheat has been sentenced to an eight week curfew.
Tamas Lovasz, aged 63, of Chalfont Street, Bolton, pleaded guilty to failing to declare income when claiming Jobseekers Allowance between October 2013 and May 2015.
Bolton magistrates ordered him to be electronically tagged between 8am and 4pm for the duration of the curfew.
He must also pay £85 towards the cost of prosecuting the case plus an £85 victim surcharge.

Woman assaulted three others

A WOMAN has been sentenced to do 160 hours unpaid work after admitting assaulting three women and a man on July 3 last year.
Jacqueline Donoghue, aged 36, of Rydal Close, Bury, initially denied committing the offences but changed her plea when she appeared before Manchester magistrates.
The court ordered Donoghue to participate in 15 days of rehabilitation activities.
She was also told she must pay her victims a total of £408 in compensation as well as paying £200 towards prosecution costs and an £85 victim surcharge.

Salesman caught with fake bags

MAGISTRATES have ordered a man to do 100 hours unpaid work after he was caught selling counterfeit bags and purses.
At Manchester Magistrates’ Court Abdul Bari, aged 27, of Walmersley Road, Bury, pleaded guilty to possessing and selling fake Louis Vuitton bags and purses.
He was caught committing the offences in June and last year.
In addition to the sentence Bari was ordered to pay an £85 victim surcharge and £65 towards the cost of bringing the prosecution.

Burglar targeted the market

A BURGLAR who targeted Ashburner Street market has been jailed for 18 weeks.
At Bolton Magistrates’ Court Derek Hardman, aged 34, of Langdon Close, Bolton, pleaded guilty to committing the offence and assaulting two people on December 21. The court heard that Hardman stole a purse and contents valued at £260. He was also ordered to pay a £115 victim surcharge.

He assaulted a woman

MAGISTRATES have ordered a man to do 100 hours unpaid work after he pleaded guilty to damaging a mobile phone, assaulting a woman and failing to surrender to court.
At Bolton Magistrates’ Court Richard Broadfield, aged 24, of Sapling Road, Bolton, was also ordered to participate in 20 days of rehabilitation activities and pay £185 compensation.
