TWO people were taken to hospital after a brawl broke out in Bolton town centre.

A large group of men and women started fighting in Bradshawgate, at around 3.30am on Sunday morning.

One man was reportedly left unconscious while a woman also suffered facial injuries.

Police said the incident took place near Shots bar and there was a large emergency service response in the town centre.

A Greater Manchester Police spokesman said: "It looks like a large group of men and women started fighting with each other and a man was knocked unconscious."

It was later reported that the man had suffered head injuries but was conscious and breathing when he was taken to hospital.

A North West Ambulance spokesman said paramedics initially attended to reports a person was unconscious.

They took a woman to Royal Bolton Hospital for treatment for facial injuries and a man was also taken to hospital.

Video footage shows Bradshawgate closed and several police cars parked in the road after officers attended to deal with the incident.

On eyewitness said they were told someone had been 'badly beaten up' outside The Dragonfly bar.

He said around 12 police vehicles attended in total as well as an ambulance.

Police have confirmed no arrests have been made but inquiries are ongoing.
