A FARM helped a romantic boyfriend pop the question to his cow-loving partner the day before Valentine's Day.
Geoff Fitzsimmons, from Ashton-in-Makerfield, took his girlfriend Shelley Derbyshire and their two-year-old son Frankie to Smithills Open Farm for a family day out on Tuesday.
But 36-year-old Miss Derbyshire, who has a lifelong obsession with cows, was unaware that her boyfriend had a ring in his pocket.

A huge congratulations to @geofffitzsimmo1 and his now fiancé Shelley Derbyshire on their engagement yesterday at our farm. Geoff knows Shelley loves cows so where better to propose. 🐮🐮 pic.twitter.com/Ey31EwDK7H
The staff introduced her to Ashlynn and while she was stroking the cow, Mr Fitzsimmons got down on one knee. A smiling Miss Derbyshire said yes and the couple embraced.
Mr Fitzsimmons, aged 33, said: "I was nervous but I was pretty sure she was going to say yes."
"She is obsessed with cows and she has lots of ornaments in her house. She has always loved them. I always said that if I was going to proposed it would have to be something to do with cows."
