A MAN armed with a crowbar stormed a bookmakers and stole cash on Thursday evening. 
Police were called to Ladbrokes in Chorley Old Road to reports of an armed robbery involving a crowbar. 
The man made off with a quantity of cash and no one is believed to have been injured in the robbery. 
A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police, said: “We were called last night just after 7.20pm to reports of an armed robbery.
“No one was injured and the offender has stolen a quantity of cash.”
The spokesperson added that the offender had been reported as having a crowbar. 
The robber attacked the store as the street went quiet. Other shopkeepers nearby couldn’t comment on the incident as the attack was made after all other stores closed.
Staff in Ladbrokes would not comment on the incident and a spokesman from their head office said: "We can confirm an incident took place after 7pm on Thursday evening. We are now assisting police with their enquiries."

Over the past few weeks The Bolton News had reported on other armed robberies in the borough. 
On January 18, robbers armed with axes smashed their way into Hays Travel in Westhoughton and stole money from members of staff.
Also on January 9, masked armed robbers raided Thomas Cook in Market Street, Farnworth, before also fleeing with stolen cash.
