WORK on a controversial housing development is set to start in the near future.
Residents have reported seeing vehicles and staff on the site around the Last Drop Village Hotel and Spa in Bromley Cross last week and believed work had started.
The go-ahead was given last year by Bolton Council for Jones Homes to build 98 houses on the site despite 660 letters of objection.
A spokesman for Jones Homes said staff have been carrying out site visits but have not started work on the development.
Work is expected to start in the ‘near future’.
