A HOUSE was damaged by burning wheelie bins suspected to have been set alight deliberately.
Firefighters were called to Cecilia Court South, off Cecilia Street, in Great Lever at about 3.50am last night to reports the two bins were ablaze.
The heat caused a 'small amount' of damage to the door frames and window of the house.
Andrew Bolton, crew manager, said it was fortunate the fire had not spread to the property.
He said: "Luckily it didn't spread to the house but if it had been a bit further to the left, or to the right, it could have been quite a different story.
"The occupant was a little bit shaken up, we just advised him about not leaving bins out after collection day and will be giving out leaflets in the area saying the same thing."
Firefighters also put out another wheelie bin fire in a nearby alleyway
