A FORMER heavyweight professional boxer who sparred with Mike Tyson during his career will share his memories in a sportsman dinner in aid of a new charity.
Joe Egan, known as Big Joe, will step on stage at Leigh Sports Village on Saturday, June 2 as an after-dinner speaker at Polly's Angels red carpet event which will also include a meal, disco, raffle and drinks on arrival.
A signed boxing glove and canvas from the Irish boxer will also be auctioned off on the night.
Polly's Angels was originally set up in January 2016 to support Atherton mum-of-three Polly Haydock, who died from cancer last year, and has helped to organise fundraisers for a few other people's medical treatment in the area since.
It now has plans to establish itself as a registered charity and the evening will chart the organisation's two-year history and its ambitions for the future.
Tickets for the event, which starts at 7pm on the night, cost £45.
