A SKIP fire sparked concern after it was set ablaze close to a home in Breightmet.
Crews said a large pile of building waste including cardboard sheets had been deliberately set alight in Kingsfold Close shortly after 9.30pm last night (April 7).
Richard Henthorn, Bolton North watch manager, said: "Someone had set fire to a large pile of rubbish in a skip near to a house and it had caused a large fire.
"The skip was totally on fire. It could have been a hazard to the nearby property.
"We dropped a tank of water on the fire to douse the flames."
