FOUR men have been arrested after a series of raids across Bolton.
Officers from Greater Manchester Police and HMRC executed warrants to search a number of addresses this morning.
The men, aged 26, 36, 44 and 54 were arrested on suspicion of fraudulent evasion of excise duty and money laundering. They remain in custody for questioning.
Detective inspector, David Johnston, said: “Taking positive action against crime in our community is always a good thing, and we will continue to investigate the illegal sale of cigarettes.
“If you have information about the illegal supply of cigarettes in your area, I’d encourage you to contact police, as it’s this detail that helps us to take such strong action against these crimes.”
Two other men were also arrested Burnley in connection with the investigation.
HMRC say investigations are ongoing.
