A SCHOOL in Radcliffe was delivered a shock parcel filled with adult sex toys.

An Amazon Prime box, filled with what is understood to be dozens of vibrators and other sex toys, has been delivered to Spring Lane School, in Radcliffe.

The school reassured parents that the box was kept sealed in an office and none of the pupils saw the contents of the package.

The shipping label on the parcel read: "ABS Holdings Ltd, Spring Lane. Radcliffe."

Spring Lane School searched for the company online and traced it back to Bournemouth-based ABS Holdings Ltd — a manufacturer of adult products.

A spokesman from Spring Lane School, in Spring Lane, said: "We came back from the Easter holidays to find three boxes which had been delivered to the school by Amazon Prime.

"One of our staff opened one of the boxes which contained a number of smaller boxes wrapped in black plastic. We didn’t look too closely at what was inside, but we knew fairly quickly it was something we hadn’t ordered.

"We checked the address on the parcel, which was given as ABS Holdings Ltd, but followed by Spring Lane, Radcliffe.

"After searching for the company online, it appeared to be based near Bournemouth.

"We contacted them, they told us what the products were, and said they would arrange to collect the parcels.

"We have absolutely no idea why we received these boxes, but there has obviously been a mix-up with someone’s order.

"None of our students saw the contents of the parcels."

The site supports secondary age pupils, many of whom have had difficulties in mainstream education, or are at risk of exclusion.

The package was picked up on Monday, April 16 when the school returned after the Easter holidays.

ABS Holdings, in Ringwood, Bournemouth, which is listed on Google as a "UK based erotic wholesaler", shares the same street name, Spring Lane, in its address.

A spokesman for ABS Holdings said: "We apologise for any distress that the school has experienced.

“Amazon usually take great stringent measures to ensure their parcels are delivered to the correct locations.

“They are probably the best and most accurate delivery service in the world so on this issue of returning it to the address they will need to take it up with any third party courier involved.

“There was nothing we could have done to intercept it.

“We take our responsibility very seriously.

“We have measures in place to ensure that items we distribute are not sent to addresses such as schools, playgroups or otherwise. If anyone tries to send one as a prank, we refuse delivery.

“Sadly, an error has occurred on the part of a courier, which has caused one of our return parcels to go astray.”

Amazon has been contacted for a comment.
