A MAN died after collapsing at a house in Smithills, police have confirmed.
Officers attended the scene, at an address in Knowsley Road, near the junction with Harpers Lane, at around 11.10am yesterday.
A spokesman for Greater Manchester Police, said: "Police were called at 11.10am by the ambulance service to reports that a man had collapsed.
"He sadly died sometime later and enquiries into the circumstances surrounding his death are ongoing."
An air ambulance landed on a bowling green at Hollywood Road Sports and Social Club at around 10.30am and paramedics got out and travelled to the property in question.
The scene was also attended by two ambulances and one rapid response vehicle from the North West Ambulance Service.
An eyewitness said: "The ambulance landed and the crew rushed around the corner and down to the house. It all took about an hour and then they were gone."
