A DRIVER'S dash cam footage showed him chasing down youngsters in Horwich after something was thrown at his car.

Matthew Queen had just left Horwich Boxing Academy in Lee Lane and was waiting at the traffic lights in Winter Hey Lane, just next to Back Emmett Street.

As the traffic started to move, the 23-year-old heard a loud bang towards the back of his car and the footages shows him steering left into Back Emmett Street as the three boys scarpered.

He chased after them and managed to catch up with one and said he "exchanged words" with him but did not report the incident to police as there was no damage to his car.

Mr Queen, who lives in Westhoughton, said: "I saw the group of lads who were loitering around and when I began to move at the traffic lights they chucked something at the car.

"My first thought was to chase them down that side street and they all ran off in different directions.

"I got out to check if there was any damage. There wasn't any.

"I was quite angry at the time. It made quite a big bang and I got out just to see which direction the lads went in.

"When I checked the extent of the damage and once I realised there was not significant damage I calmed down a bit."

Mr Queen said he put the footage on Facebook in the hope that the parents would see what their children were up to. The incident on April 17 came after recent concerns about anti-social behaviour in the town, including when a bus window was smashed last year.
