PLANS to erect a new eight-metre flag pole next to Blackrod Library have been revealed.
Bolton Council has applied for planning permission to put up the new pole, which will be located along the side of the building adjacent to Church Street.
The application came after discussions by members of Blackrod Town Council at previous committee meetings.
The pole would be used to fly the Union Flag for prominent community events including Remembrance Day and Armistice Day as well as supporting any other civic protocols.
It would be stainless steel with a gold top.
