BIG Sam has urged fans to get behind Wanderers ahead of Saturday’s huge clash at relegation rivals Burton Albion.
Former Bolton boss Sam Allardyce says he believes the club can survive despite recent troubles, including a transfer embargo and financial difficulties.
He called Championship status “massively important”, adding: “I wish Phil Parkinson and the players all the best for Saturday, securing three points and Championship status.
“If they do achieve it will be a minor miracle.”
Former playing legends Kevin Davies and John McGinlay were also among the names giving their support.
Davies, who captained the Whites during their Premier Division heyday, said: “They can do it. The belief Phil Parkinson has given them will help. I think it’s a tough game but its about staying together and having that belief as a group.
“I would say, give it your all and that’s all you can do.”
He was backed by 1990s icon John McGinlay, who said: “We’ve been here before and we’ve got the experience to get through it.
“It’s going to be a tough one, but it’s in our hands now since Barnley’s result went the right way for us. We can do it.”
While Wanderers are two points ahead of Burton, a loss would put the side firmly in danger of relegation.
