A VACANT commercial unit in the town centre could be transformed into a hot-food takeaway.
Plans for the empty premises at 129 Caroline House, Bradshawgate, were submitted to Bolton Council last week.
It proposes to change the use of the building from a commercial unit to a hot food takeaway.
A planning statement said the applicant was hoping to "capitalise on the site's commercialised location".
"The applicant seeks to change the use of the application site to a hot food establishment and seeks to provide an additional cuisine in the local area, based on a healthy selection of grilled chicken dishes, including different filling and flavoured sandwiches following a healthy nutritional vibe.
"Establishments which sell food and drink play a key role in the economy in adding interest and vitality to local and district centres, and main thoroughfares, and in providing an important and increasingly popular service to the general public."
