NURSES delivered a special talk to sixth form students who celebrated International Midwives Day with them this week.

Bolton Sixth Form College works with the Bolton NHS Trust to provide vital workplace know for students as part of its Futures Academy.

Midwives gave a special talk before giving the students a tour of Royal Bolton Hospital’s maternity unit.

Sixth form students who were interested in applying for midwifery, were given some tips for their university application including demonstrating that care during and after pregnancy were both important.

College leaders said that students had an “inspiring and informative day”. The college works with a number of employers to ensure students receive an insight into the workplace.
