AN image of a man has been released after a woman was raped in a flat.
On Saturday, November 18, police received a report that an 18-year-old woman had been raped at a flat in Long Street earlier that morning.
She was offered support by specially trained officers and an investigation into the circumstances was launched.
Since that time, officers have pursued a number of lines of enquiry in order to identify the offender including extensive forensic testing and profiling, some of which has taken a significant time to complete.
This however has not resulted in any positive profiles of the offender and enquiries remain ongoing.
As part of these enquiries, investigating officers released an image of a man they wanted to speak to in connection with the incident.
But officers later revealed they were no longer looking for him.
Anyone who has information is asked to call police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
