A FORMER Greater Manchester police officer from Bolton faces a trial in connection with indecent images of children.
Steven Halliwell, aged 43, has denied six charges of making indecent images of children and nine offences of possessing such images.
Halliwell, of Lee Avenue, Great Lever, is alleged to have committed the offences while employed as a police constable with the force's High Tech Crime Unit.
At Liverpool Crown Court on Friday, Halliwell pleaded guilty to stealing three Apple laptops, 15 iPhones, two iPad minis and three Samsung mobile phones between July 21, 2011 and February 9, 2016, worth a total of £4,804, belonging to Greater Manchester Police.
But Halliwell denied six charges of making indecent images of children and nine offences of possessing such images.
Halliwell was remanded on bail to await his trial, expected to last two weeks, beginning on December 3.
