TWO more people have been arrested in connection with a shooting on the car park of a Swinton restaurant.

A 37-year-old man was arrested today by Nottinghamshire Police, on behalf of GMP, on suspicion of possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life.

A second 39-year-old man from the Salford area was also arrested today on suspicion of possession of a firearm with intent to commit an indictable offence.

They were both further arrested on suspicion to commit grievous bodily harm.

The arrests follow the ongoing Operation Marconi investigation into the shooting of a 30-year-old man in the car park of Albert's Restaurant in East Lancashire Road on February 4.

The man was then taken to hospital with a serious gunshot wound to the leg, but has since been discharged and is recovering.

Detective Inspector Dave Turner, from GMP’s Salford borough, said: "As part of this operation we have been carrying out extensive work and have made several arrests so far.

"This investigation does not stop here and we will do everything we can to find those responsible for this shooting and bring them to justice.

"I’d like to thank colleagues at Nottinghamshire for their support today in assisting with this latest arrest."

Anyone with information about this incident should call police on 101 quoting reference number 2053 of 04/02/2018, or the independent charity Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.

Previously, a 39-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to commit GBH and conspiracy to possess a firearm with intent to commit an indictable offence.

A 31-year-old man was also arrested on suspicion of obstructing police and money laundering.

Both were later released under investigation.

A man and a woman have been charged in connection with the shooting.
