BOLTON Lads and Girls Club wants to extend its lobby area as part of a revamp of facilities at its headquarters.
The youth club has applied to Bolton Council for permission to carry out the lobby extension at its main base in Spa Road.
It is also seeking the go-ahead to install new windows at the back of the building.
The charity provides services and facilities to young people across the borough.
A design and access statement submitted with the plans says: “The club are currently proposing to carry out refurbishment and alteration works to the premises to improve and refresh the existing facilities.”
It adds: “The main element of the project will be the construction of a new entrance lobby, to the front elevation of Spa Road.
“This will create a new focal point, and will highlight the main entrance to the building.”
The statement acknowledges the extension will create “more of an impact’ than the existing entrance, but not at the expense of the building or surrounding area.”
A decision on the application will be made in due course.
