A TEENAGER has appeared in court accused of causing the death of a motorcyclist by careless drugged driving.

Daanyall Naser, aged 19, of The Sheddings, Bolton, is charged with causing the death of Shaun Mair, aged 46, of Whitegate Drive, Blackpool.

Naser is alleged to have driven a Vauxhall Astra without due care and attention with 6.2 micrograms of cannabis in his body - 2 micrograms is the limit.

The offence is alleged to have taken place on Squires Gate Lane, South Shore, Blackpool, on July 17 last year.

Naser told the Blackpool Magistrates' Court that he did not wish to indicate a plea to the offence at that stage.

He was granted bail by District Judge Jeff Brailsford and his next court appearance is due to be at Preston Crown Court on June 20 by District Judge Jeff Brailsford sitting at Blackpool Magistrates' Court.
