SAM Allardyce is set to return to the England dugout for the upcoming Soccer Aid game at Old Trafford.

The legendary Bolton Wanderers boss will be joined by actor Bradley Walsh, host of the ITV quiz show 'The Chase', who will serve as his assistant.

Big Sam is reprising his role at the charity game, which raises money for UNICEF, having managed the England XI in 2012, 2014 and 2016.

He will be joined by a range of celebrities and former players, including Bolton funnyman Paddy McGuinness, Robbie Williams, Usain Bolt, Sir Mo Farah, Eric Cantona and Gordon Ramsay.

Former England professional team manager Allardyce said: “I am delighted to be back managing the England lads again and supporting a great cause. I’ve been involved for several years now but when you look at both line-ups this time, they are amongst the best I have seen.

"It will be bigger and better than ever this year. One of the parts of Soccer Aid I enjoy most is the banter with the crowd, so make sure you buy your tickets for more of the same on Sunday 10th June."

For this year's game, the UK government has said it will match every £1 donated by the public through its UK Aid Match scheme.

International development secretary, Penny Mordaunt, added: "We are excited to be involved once again this year in what promises to be the biggest Soccer Aid for Unicef to date.

"The UK government will match public donations pound-for-pound, meaning that, together, we can double the difference for children around the world."

The game is set to take place on Sunday, June 10, at 8.00pm, and will see an England XI line up against famous faces from the rest of the world.

Alongside others, this year's event will feature Olly Murs, Michael Sheen, Mark Wright, Brendan Cole, Joe Wicks, boy band Rak-Su, Clarence Seedorf, Robert Pirès, Yaya Tourè, Jaap Stam, Patrick Kluivert, Edwin van der Sar, Kevin Pietersen, David Seaman, Dan Carter, Phil Neville, Jamie Redknapp, Danny Murphy, Robbie Fowler, Freddie Flintoff and Lee Mack.

Walsh, England's assistant manager, said: “Soccer Aid for Unicef has become an institution and I’m really proud to be part of it once again. I’ve lived it as a player and more recently as England Assistant Manager – it is a fantastic initiative.

"Thanks to your support the game has raised, and continues to raise, millions of pounds for children in danger all around the world. You can help to make a difference by donating and the UK government will match your contribution pound-for-pound.”
