A DRIVER had a lucky escape after his car burst into flames.
The BMW caught fire in Hindley Road, Westhoughton, at just after 3pm yesterday (Tuesday).
According to an eyewitness, the driver managed to get out of the car and was unharmed.
The road was then closed for around an hour as firefighters from Atherton station used breathing apparatus to tackle the blaze.
Police are believed to be investigating the incident.
