A BOLTON school has been given permission for an all-weather pitch.
Planners gave Kearsley Academy in Springfield Road the go ahead for a 3G sports pitch, fencing and floodlights.
The plans include incorporated drainage which is designed to help with standing water.
A new grass pitch has also been approved for the school.
The pitches will be on an open area in front of the school where the former George Tomlinson School buildings used to stand.
Drainage problems have meant the grass has been unable to grow well, this will be dealt with as part of the application a council officer said at the committee meeting last week.
