PUPILS from two schools have been celebrating winning prizes in the Bolton Inter-Schools Photography Competition.

The competition was open to all secondary schools across the borough with the best image displayed at Bolton College’s end of year art and design showcase. This year’s competition attracted more than 130 entries.

This year’s first prize went to Rivington School’s Alice Balkwill, who won £50 voucher for her image.

Two runners up prizes went to Little Lever School’s Tosseeb Ahmed and Katie Rossington, who were presented with £25 shopping vouchers. Year 10 pupil

Tosseeb took a double exposure photograph combining images of lights and walls which caught the judge’s eye. As had Year 11 Katie with her black and white photo of Blackpool’s Winter Gardens.

The pair will also receive a special award for Little Lever’s headteacher for their achievement.
