A CHARITY set up to support creative arts in Bolton is staging a “summer gig” to raise funds for the work it does helping isolated older people in the community.

The event has been organised by the Christian organisation CreateBolton and will take place at Ridgmont House, off Chorley Old Road in Horwich, on Saturday, July 14, starting at 7.30pm, as it also celebrates its fifth anniversary.

The Nick Jackson Band will be performing original music from their four albums as well an eclectic mix of covers of songs by artists including Neil Young, Tom Petty, Bruce Springsteen, The Kinks, Coldplay and Bob Dlyan.

There will also be a performance from Bolton singer and acoustic guitarist Sally Shephard.

A hot buffet and dessert is included. Tickets are available from Cafe Create at Claremont House in Bark Street, Bolton, which is open from 10am to 2pm on Fridays and Saturdays and by calling 07766 235119.

CreateBolton uses art in its widest sense to connect with people, running events in schools and the community.
