A "MAMMOTH" effort from the emergency services and mountain rescue teams led to a missing man being found.
Bolton Mountain Rescue Team with colleagues from the Bowland Pennine team, the fire service, coast guard and fire service conducted a search on moorland around Rivington in the early hours of Saturday. On social media the Bolton Mountain Rescue Team said: "This was a mammoth team effort with many statutory and voluntary organisations all seamlessly working alongside each other - all contributing to a fantastic outcome."
They were looking for a man who was believed to be at high risk, he was reported to them at 11.56pm on Friday.
With the help of the coastguard's S-92 helicopter, a fire service drone and an air scenting dog team from the Search and Rescue Dog Association he was found at 7.45am near Roddlesworth Information Centre.
