THE stars of Adlington Music and Arts Association enjoyed the red carpet treatment after winning three gongs at the National Operatic and Dramatic Association awards' dinner in 1981 held in Blackpool.
The society was hugely successful at the 'Oscars' of the amateur dramatic world.
The society's production of Ivor Novello' musical King's Rhapsody won the overall winning production, the winning show and Jean Unsworth won an award for her acting.
Many of the Bolton's amateur theatre societies have celebrated success at the awards ceremony.
Only recently 24/7 reported on the success of The Three Towns Operatic Society at the annual dinner.
