A CAFÉ run by Bolton Hospice has been awarded the highest food hygiene rating.

Old Bank Cafe was given a five star rating by the Food Standards Agency .

Sophie Price, Café manager said, “We are delighted to have achieved the top five star food hygiene rating by the Food Standards Agency. We work hard to adhere to and exceed the standards outlined by the Food Standards Agency so we’re incredibly proud of the results of our assessment!”

The areas the food safety officer inspected included hygienic food handling, the cleanliness and conditions of facilities and the building, and the management of food safety.

Old Bank Café sells a range of paninis, sandwiches and wraps. It also has soups of the day and a range of Carrs' Pasties.

The café opened in April 2018 in Astley Bridge opposite Asda in Blackburn Road and is next door to the hospice shop.

It opens Monday to Saturday 9.30am to 3.30pm and from 10am, to 3pm on Sundays.
