PERMISSION for a new four-bedroom home in Breightmet has been refused by planning chiefs.
A proposal to build the detached house on land at Osmund Avene,in Breightmet was deferred by Bolton Council’s planning committee last September.
The applicant was asked to consider changing the plans so the house could be accessed from Oakenbottom Road, at the rear of the site, rather than Osmund Avenue. New plans retaining access from Osmund Avenue were recommended for approval.
But members of the committee took a different view.
Breightmet ward councillor Debbie Newall said: “Residents from day one have said they have no objection to the building of this house, they have made a perfectly reasonable request that the access if off Oakenbottom Road. That road provides access to two other houses that are already there.
