AUDIENCES were gripped as the drama of The Winslow Boy unfolded on the stage.
Terence Rattigan's play, based on a real life event, was performed by the talented cast at Bolton Little Theatre in February 1972.
The powerful play, by one of Britain's greatest playwrights, is based on a father's fight to clear his son's name after the boy is expelled from a navel college for stealing .
The mark against his name would bring dishonour on his family and lead to them being shunned by society with the stain following the boy throughout his life.
The play is set against the values of 1910 Edwardian London and gives an insight into the hypocrisy of the time.
Playing the part was Wyn Parry as Arthur Winslow, Robin Parry as Ronnie Winslow and Lillian Cullen as Grace Winslow.
