A PLAY which won over audiences when it premiered at The Met in Bury will be showing at the Greater Manchester Fringe Festival.

Cheaters, penned by former Turton School pupil Lewis Charlesworth, enjoyed a sell out run to great reviews.

It will show at The Kings Arms on July 8 and 22nd as part of the arts festival.

The play it is a fast-paced, and dynamic comedy about infidelity— echoing the classic farces by the likes of Noel Coward, but updated for modern audiences.

With Lewis describing it as " a frantic, silly and raunchy take on marriage, monogamy, and infidelity"

It opened over the weekend winning excellent reviews.

Rehearsals took place in Ramsbottom fire station and ideas for more plays are being developed by the comedian turned playwright.

Lewis performed at the Greater Manchester' Fringe's 2016 festival with his The Book of Northern: The entire history of the North West, told in under one hour.
