A HELICOPTER search was conducted over the Tonge Fold area.
The operation on Sunday afternoon was part of a police search for a missing person from Salford.
Residents reported seeing a police helicopter and police cars in the area.
A spokesman for Greater Manchester Police said: "The helicopter is searching over the Tonge Cemetery area.
"They are looking for a missing person from Salford, who has been missing since 9.30am on Sunday."
