A YOUNG musician who began a world record attempt in Bolton has succeeded.

Tom Grennan, whose new album Lighting Matches launched last week, now holds the record for the most concerts in multiple towns in 12 hours.

Grennan, who sang live on BBC Radio 2 this week, began his tour at Henighans in Bury Road, Breightmet at 6.45am on Wednesday.

To succeed the 23-year-old had to play a set at 10 venues which were 30 miles apart and have an audience of at least 10 people.

The Bedford-born singer who lives in London had never been to Bolton before.

His lightning tour took him to Knutsford, Market Drayton, Monmouth and Chipping Sodbury among others before finishing in Marlborough in time for the football.
