A GIGANTIC family treat – in more ways than one – is in store at The Albert Halls’ summer pantomime.

Headlined by legendry Nolan Sister, Anne Nolan and Shameless star Warren Donnelly, Jack and the Beanstalk promises to be a hugely enjoyable show.

Producer Joe Purdy said “I’m absolutely delighted that we are bringing Summer Pantomime to Bolton after a great visit in March with Rapunzel.”

“We’ve got such a strong talented cast, that are going to be joined on stage by over 40 local children throughout our visit. “

It is the company’s first summer season in Bolton so all the stops are being pulled-out to make it an unforgettable experience.

The plot, which follows the traditional tale, involves Jack, his mother Dame Dolly (top panto dame Richard Aucott), and his brother Silly Billy (Andrew Curphey) living on a farm in Boltonia without a bean to their name.

Their friendly cow, Daisy, has gone dry, they owe King Charles months’ worth of rent and worse still the village is being destroyed by the evil giant Blunderbore. His wicked henchman Fleshcreep (a terrifying Stephen Sullivan) has kidnapped the beautiful Princess Jill (local star Rebecca Lake), so it’s up to Jack to try to save the day and win the heart of Princess Jill – with a little helping hand from The Fairy Queen!

The show runs from July 27 and August 12 and the company has chosen the local charity, Fresh as a Daisy, to fundraise for during the production.

The charity is a non-profit group that provides monthly packs containing sanitary and personal hygiene products for vulnerable woman and girls in Bolton.

Anne Nolan, a veteran of 31 pantomimes, said: “This is going to be a bit different for me because it’s the first time I’m doing everything in rhyme, which is a bit scary.”

And of course, you couldn’t have a Nolan in a show without one of their hits, so the show will end with a rousing rendition of I’m in the Mood for Dancing!

“There really is something for everyone in this show,” said Joe, “and I hope to see lots of you there”
