A WOMAN had to be rescued from her car after it rolled onto its side during rush hour.

The woman was cut free from a black Vauxhall Astra following a collision with a white Ford Ka.

A woman living in Holden Avenue, where the crash happened, said the aftermath was "crazy" with lots of neighbours running over to the scene.

She added: "I went running out and called an ambulance.

"Everybody was out trying to help, which we do round here."

One neighbour, Jack Poole, who has lived in the road for 35 years, said: "It's terrible. It never happens round here but it happened today.

"Never had this trouble before, never."

He believed the Ford Ka belonged to a nursery worker who parked in the road regularly and was in the car when the crash happened.

Mr Poole added: "It's skidded because of the wet weather, it's not a fast road this."

The fire service were called to the incident at 8.11am. Crews stabilised the black Astra and cut a woman free.

Greater Manchester Police and North West Ambulance Service also attended the scene. A spokesman for police described the incident as a "non-injury collision". No one has been arrested.
