A CHARITY event has been organised to remember a teenager who lost her life after an epileptic seizure.

The Unicorn in Bolton Road, Radcliffe, is opening its doors to families for a fun day and race night to coincide with the anniversary of Samantha Ahearn who died at her home in Dumers Lane on July 16, 2009, aged just 19.

Visitors are invited to the pub from 2pm on Saturday, July 28, to make the most of a family fun day in Samantha's memory.

There will be a bouncy castle, face painting, raffles, a tombola and more.

A barbecue has also been organised.

Then, from 6pm, the venue will host a race night for adults only, with further raffles being drawn and more barbecue food.

All proceeds from the events will go towards the Sam Ahearn Appeal, which was launched after her death. The family learnt that Sam died from SUDEP (Sudden Unexpected Death in Epilepsy) and has worked tirelessly to raise awareness of the condition, fundraising more than £42,000 for SUDEP Action.
