THE OWNERS of a new comic book store in Farnworth have urged people to bring their old comics and collectables and see what they might be worth.

John Wright, David Jones, Ken Hampson and Tony Taylor opened the Extraterrestrial shop, on Stone Hill Road, in February, offering comics, collectables and old memorabilia.

Now the men, who met while travelling and selling their wares at fairs across the country, are encouraging residents to bring round old comics or figures and see what they might be worth, as well as reminiscing on some of the characters and stories represented in the shop.

Mr Wright said: "Come on down and speak to us. You never know what your items might be worth.

"We have people coming in all the time and they really enjoy it."

Mr Jones added: "We had never had a shop before and we thought this would be a fabulous idea.

"People have been visiting from across the country to see the things we're selling. We've had customers from Liverpool, Leeds and Birmingham."

He also urged people to bring their children to take a look at the more modern comics on sale.

Some of the older comics in the store are products of the DC and Marvel brands made in the 1960s. Many of the characters represented in the books have become household names after the release of recent blockbuster movies.

Anyone interested in visiting the store can find it inside the Outer Space Storage facility on Stone Hill Road, or visit the 'Extraterrestrial Comics & Collectables' page on Facebook.
