BOLTON rockers The Attic Doctors are set to release their new single.

Recorded at White Bear in Chorley, Sauce, which will drop tomorrow, is the outfit’s third single following the biggest six months in the band’s career to date.

The track was one of the first to be written by the band and has remained a fan favourite amongst their impressive set list.

Frontman Dean Peatfield said: “When we first played Sauce live we all felt that it stood out. After cutting the majority of our early material, Sauce remained in the set, so we wanted to honour this by making it a single.”

Bassist Matt Dagger added: "We can't wait for the track to come out and get on the road.

"It was written by Joe our guitarist and it’s a love song in a sense, it’s full of longing and desperation, but it’s also a floor filler and a bit of an anthem.

"When we first started out we had quite a lot of songs, and few shockers, but we whittled it down and this song always remained, so we wanted to celebrate its longevity.”

Although the outfit have no plans for an album just yet, Sauce is just one of a number of singles recorded at White Bear the band will be officially launching in the coming weeks.

Matt said: "The recording process went great. The team at White Bear there couldn't have been more helpful, and because we have worked with them before they have an idea for our sound and they are not afraid to butt in. So they have helped us get the best possible recording.

"We are just going to do singles at the moment. We want to get a few out in quick succession and we plan to record, release, record, release and play as much as we can in 2018.

"Maybe a bit further down the line we will put them together, but it depends how each single is received and where it goes.”

Sauce will also be accompanied by The Attic Doctors first music video, set to come out on August 17.

Featuring shots of the band at recent gigs in Europe, London and Manchester, the video is a further celebration of the band’s journey and recent blossoming, as well as marking a streak of a bold ambition juggernauting the band.

Matt said: “The track and video are also the first part of a wider plan. Having a video alongside the track is the first time we have had a visual representation in parallel with a song.

“So it’s sort of like an introduction to us in a way, before we get a bit more experimental and deeper with our songs.”

Formed in 2015 the band, whose members attended Smithills and Sharples Schools, got together in their late teens and early 20s through the Blind Tiger venue in Bolton.

Originally a four piece, comprising frontman Dean, guitarist Joe Cubbin, drummer Jack Smith and bassist Matt; the boys later expanded their sound and their line-up, being joined by a second guitarist, Liam Duffy.

The last few months have seen the band explode out of the Manchester music scene, dominating their biggest headline gig to date at Le Truskel rock'n'roll bar and microclub in Paris, as well playing headline sets at Night and Day Cafe and the Castle Hotel.

Matt said: "On the back of Paris we played a few Manchester shows and we played a really good gig at the Eagle Inn where we didn't know what to expect, but we did a headline show and it sold out.

“We are now preparing for a couple of dates in August, including at Jimmy’s in Northern Quarter, and some festival dates later this summer.”

Sauce is available to download and stream on Spotify and Deezer from tomorrow.
