IT'S not just the pupils who receive first class care at Oxford Grove Primary School — its staff do too.

The Halliwell-based school is officially in the top one per cent of organisations in the UK for the way values its staff and pupils to create a culture of success after it was awarded Platinum Status by Investors in People.

Staff were described as being passionate about their work and being committed to the community they serve.

Head teacher Nadine Harvey said: "I am delighted that our school has secured such a prestigious award. The staff who work at Oxford Grove are extremely passionate, hardworking and dedicated.

"I am proud to lead such a phenomenal team of people. This award is a great achievement for our Halliwell community.

"We have the most amazing children who attend our school, such a rich diversity of cultures who come together as one Oxford Grove family. We want the best for all our children and will do our upmost to help them succeed."

The school was praised for responding to changing pressures.

The assessment report stated: "The results from the online survey were phenomenally positive, consistent across different groups of staff and far exceed the average scores for organisations within the education sector.

"Evidence collated during the assessment process demonstrates that the leadership of the school is inspiring, open and transparent and respected by all staff members. People spoke of being like a family and all striving towards the same goals and for the best outcomes for the children at the school. All staff explained how they personally believe in the values of the school.

"It was extremely clear that people are very passionate about working for the school. People are committed to its future success and going the extra mile to support the community they serve."
