BOLTON businesses have come together to harness their competitiveness in aid of a good cause.

Horwich-based specialist recruitment company Four Recruitment hosted a quiz night in aid of the Little Princes Trust, which makes wigs for children and young people suffering the effects of chemotherapy.

Staff member Rebecca Taylor was devastated when her younger sister, Amy, was diagnosed with cancer and lost most of her hair during treatment.

Operations director and co-owner of Four Recruitment, Phil Sofield said: “As a family-owned business, our staff are part of our family.

“We were so impressed with Amy’s determination and approach to how she is handling her illness that we wanted to do something to help, so we asked Amy to nominate a charity she’d like to support and we’d do the rest!.”

Amy selected The Little Princess Trust as her charity of choice. The Trust has supported her through her treatment and has provided her with a real hair wig which has enabled her to continue to work and keep her confidence whilst undergoing treatment.

Contacts, clients and friends were invited to a special ‘Quiz Night’ held at The Brinsop in Westhoughton and companies from across Bolton and beyond, including Premex, Eventura, Sambro One E Group and My Dentist entered teams.

Raffle prizes were also donated by Cosatto, One E Group, Shearings Holidays and others. The evening raised £3,500 for The Little Princess Trust.

Mr Sofield said: “The Bolton business community really came together on the evening. They’re certainty a competitive bunch when it comes to a quiz, but very generous when it comes to charity.”

“It was a privilege to coordinate this event for Amy and the Trust. It was even more of a privilege to have her and her family attend the night.”
