THERE has been a slight month on month decrease in unemployment in Bolton.
Unemployment has dropped by just over two per cent for young people (18-24) and by 1.5 per cent for adults.
In July there were 5,870 claimants in Bolton representing a 20 per cent drop since 2010 and and 28 per cent drop since 2013.
For young people the picture is even better. There are 1,185 people aged 18-24 out of work in the town, almost half as many as in 2010 and a drop of 41 per cent since 2013.
Nationally there is also a picture of increasing employment with 313,000 more people in work than at the same time last year.
Bolton Job Centre Plus staff have been working with Keoghs Solicitors and Amazon at Logistics North.
Across the north west employment is up on the quarter with 20,000 more people in work (3.4 million people).
Unemployment is at a near record low of 4.1 per cent for the region, just above the national rate of 4 per cent.
