FAST food lovers' friend Deliveroo is pedalling its way into town.

The biking delivery service, which promises food at your front door in under 30 minutes, is rolling out across Bolton.

Brands like Olympus Fish & Chips, Jarern Street Foods, Curry Korner, Panda Noodles and Grill’n’Greens have signed up to the service and are available to order from now.

Harvey's Cafe Bar in Mawdsley Street has also signed up and will be available soon.

Popular mainstream brands like KFC are also planning to join in in the future.

Dan Warne, managing director of Deliveroo in UK and Ireland said: “Launching in Bolton is a key milestone for Deliveroo.

“Bolton has a thriving foodie community and a wide range of restaurants, so we’re excited to connect them.

“We look forward to working with our new restaurant partners to reach a new customer base and expand their businesses.

“Deliveroo will also create work for 20 local riders and are thrilled to offer a flexible role to the community.”

Deliveroo will be rolling out its delivery options over the coming months and expects to have 30 food retailers and takeaways locally available to order from by the end of the year.

The company is based in London and was founded in 2013, came to Manchester three years ago and has been expanding ever since.

The service is available in 12 countries and 200 cities around the world. It arrived in neighbouring Bury in March last year.

Not all of the borough will be covered by Deliveroo though. The patch stretches to Astley Bridge in the north to the Plodder Lane area in the south.

Those looking for a bite to eat can either download the app on their phones or visit the website deliveroo.co.uk, just type in the postcode to check if the area is covered and pick your meal from the options available.

Food and drink can be ordered up to one day in advance and riders work between noon and 11pm with a delivery charge of £2.50 applied to all orders.

Earlier this year Deliveroo-rival, Uber Eats also launched in the town.
