CONTRACTORS have been hard at work demolishing the final building at Moor Lane bus station.

Throughout August the bus stands, buildings and covered walkways of the former station have been dismantled and removed from the town centre site.

This week the offices previously used by the Arriva bus company were the last to go, with the site due to be empty by today.

A long term future for the land had yet to be decided but, in the meantime, the council plans to use it as parking for the many vans and lorries expected in town for the four day Food and Drink Festival, which starts on Friday next week.
