Say thank you to the fire heroes!

RIVINGTON Terraced Gardens will play host to a huge concert on Saturday to thank the firefighting heroes of the Winter Hill fire.

The Big Thank You will run from 2-10pm and includes performances from James Holt, String Box, Toria Wooff and Jordan Allen on the Great Lawn of the heritage site.

Anyone involved in fighting the fire will be eligible for a free ticket to the show and can bring a guest along too.

Celebrate with songs of peace

SIT back and enjoy the harmonic voices of the Bolton Festival Choir and Orchestra.

The groups, made up of a mix of local talents and those travelling from far and wide to take part, will perform on Sunday, at 7.30pm, at Bolton Parish Church, Churchgate.

The emotional performance will commemorate the end of the First World War and celebrate peace.

FANS of real ale can enjoy a pint of local brew in the lush valleys of the East Lancs Railway.

The guided ale trail starts at 10.30am on Saturday at Bury Bolton Street Station, Bury, and sees travellers chug through the picturesque landscape before stopping to walk to some of countryside’s hidden gem pubs.

AWARD-winning pop superstar Barry Manilow will return to the Manchester Arena on Saturday.
