POLICE have made an arrest after a woman narrowly avoided being shot at her home in Daubhill.

Officers arrested a 52-year-old woman on suspicion of conspiracy to commit murder, in relation to the incident, which saw the street locked down on Friday, September 7, while forensic officers investigated the scene.

Two men were seen wearing black clothes and firing shots at a home in Eastwood Close, off Hulton Lane, before running away.

Police tracked a woman down to Keighley, West Yorkshire, and arrested her on Sunday, September 9. She remains in custody under questioning by detectives.

Nobody was injured in the incident but a woman had been in the house, in her bedroom, and was left "terrified" by the ordeal.

Detective Inspector Neil Lawless, from GMP’s Bolton CID, said: “Detectives have been carrying out extensive enquiries since this incident and have made one arrest so far.

“Our investigation will continue and I’m continuing to appeal to the community and further afield for any further information.

“In particular, if you saw two men acting suspiciously in the area at the time of the attack.”
